2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Spy Shots

2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Spy Shots. The brand new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class is deep into its development, and so is its high-performance AMG variant, which has been captured once again by one of our spy photographers. The new car will once again be labeled a C63 AMG, though instead of a 6.2-liter V-8 it will downsize to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8. Performance will still be impressive, as the new engine is capable of delivering up to 571 horsepower and producing much more torque lower in the revs than the old 6.2-liter mill. It’s also more fuel efficient. In the new 2015 C63 AMG, expect output to at least match the 457 horsepower of the outgoing model.
While fans may be hoping for more power, performance should be improved thanks to a lighter overall structure. These latest spy shots reveal AMG’s aggressive new look planned for its latest C63 AMG. The new look will debut on the 2014 E63 AMG due out next month and will eventually filter across the rest of the AMG range, including on the new 2014 CLA45 AMG and this new 2015 C63 AMG. Key to the design is a bent front splitter AMG’s dubbed the “A-Wing.” In addition to the new splitter, all AMG cars will also sport big brake calipers, cross-drilled discs, AMG-specific alloys, and slightly wider bumpers and fenders. The exhaust tips are also new, featuring a trapezoidal design. In addition to this new C63 AMG, look for a new C63 AMG Coupe and potentially even a C63 AMG Cabriolet to join the ranks. On top of this, we’re also expecting a new C63 AMG Black Series model.
While most C63 AMGs will likely be rear-drivers, AMG is heading towards all-wheel-drive vehicles and it’s possible we’ll see a 4MATIC option offered. The 2014 E63 AMG will be the first AMG sedan to offer the option of all-wheel drive and there will certainly be more. Other features will include an AMG SPEEDSHIFT seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and AMG DRIVE UNIT, the latter allowing owners to modify many of the vehicle’s settings, from the speed of gear shifts to the suspension stiffness. Stay tuned for updates as development progresses and look for a reveal late next year or in early 2014. 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Spy Shots.
